KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Rahmatullah Qureshi has been appointed as the Afghanistaninfo-icon Cricket Board (ACB) new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) after a competitive process among candidates, an official said on Monday.

Farid Hotak, ACB spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Qureshi was an experienced administrator with extensive working background of more than 23 years in various multinational organizations such as the Worldinfo-icon Bank and the United Nations in the fields of Youth and Adolescent Development, M&E and project management.

Hotak said Qureshi held two master degrees in Public Administration and General Management and has attended many academic courses in Europe and the USA.
He further said Qureshi has represented Afghanistan at many global conferences and forums on issues of youth and socio-economic development.

In his introductory event at ACB, former acting CEO Jaar Abdulrahimzai officially introduced Rahmatullah Qureshi to ACB staff.

In his introductory remarks, the newly appointed ACB CEO expressed his pleasure on being associated with ACB. He said he was optimistic that the organization will continue to achieve more successes.

Qureishi concluded his remarks saying,”Our aim will be to further serve and develop the game of cricket in the country as it is a source of joy for our country and it gives hope to our countrymates.”

ACB spokesman Hotak said the competitive process was based on merit and conducted transparently by an interview panel comprising ACB chairman, members as well as officials from the board.
