Taliban free no military personnel: Gen. Tadin Khan

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok):  Kandahar Police Chief Brig. Gen. Tadin Khan on Monday said the Talibaninfo-icon freed civilian detainees not military personnel.

Earlier, the Taliban announced they freed 20 government personnel in the Shahwalikot district and handed over to the ICRC as part of the US, Taliban agreement.

A closed security source in Kandahar said that freed personnel reached Kandahar City late on Sunday evening and handed over to the NDSinfo-icon personnel.

Kandahar Police Chief Brig. Gen. Tadin khan said freed people were civilians and there was no military person among them.

He said out of total 20 freed prisoners only one served in police some 11-year ago.
