For a month, Salaam Network dysfunctional in Ghazni

For a month, Salaam Network dysfunctional in Ghazni

Apr 18, 2020 - 14:31

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Residents of southern Ghazni province complain of what they call Salaam Network’s inconsistent performance, claiming the telecom firm has not been functional for the past one month.

The company, however, explains cables of its antennas have been washed away in the Maidan Wardak province by heavy floods and they are busy repairing them.

Mohammad Aslam, a resident of Ghazni City, says the Afghan Telecom Internet has also been out of order since the disruption of Salaam mobile phone services.

Nearly a month back, he adds, Salaam communication services stopped functioning. Previously, the company services also tended to be inconsistent.

“I have activated internet package of Afghan telecom worth 4,000 afghanis and two days after the communication services were halted.”

Ihsanullah, an inhabitant of Qarabagh district, says other telecom companies are not active in the province. Therefore, he continues, all residents have subscribed to the Salaam Network mobile phone and internet services.

He wants the officials concerned to resolve the problem, asking the telecom firm’s workers to improve the standard of their services.

Civil societyinfo-icon activist Rahmatullah Marjankhel points out cables of the network passing through the land route are often disconnected by floods and subversive activities, affecting internet and phone services of the company.

Communications Director Ainuddin confirms Salaam Network cables have been disconnected in Maidan Wardak and they are trying to fix them.

He says a technical team is repairing the disconnected cable in the area. The company has suffered losses due to the washing away of the cables, he concludes.
