3-way agreement soon to speed up TAPI project

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The ministries of urban affairs, petroleum and TPCL Company will soon sign an agreement to speed up work on the Turkmenistan, Afghanistaninfo-icon, Pakistaninfo-icon and India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, according to a statement on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Urban Affairs in a statement did not say what percentage work on the project has been completed but said a three-side agreement would be soon inked to accelerate on the multi-national energy project.

The Ministry of Urban Affairs, Petroleum and TPCL Company would hold a joint press conference soon regarding speeding up the project.

Acting Minister Mahmood Karzai said provision of facilities for implementation of the TAPI project was responsibility of the Urban Affairs and Mines and Petroleum ministries.

During the meeting, TPCL Company Head Mohammad Mayrit Amanvoe stressed over prompt implementation of the project and said that a joint committee of high ranking officials would be formed to monitor proper administration and completion of the agreement.
