Tajikistan drastically cuts power export to Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) on Monday said Tajikistan had reduced electricity export to Afghanistan to 40MW from 350MW due to a shortage of water,

DABS wrote on its Facebook page: “the power import from Tajikistan decreased today (Monday) morning at 7:30am.” The utility said electricity outages would occur in different areas on a turn basis.

First-category consumers would be supplied electricity from internally-produced power resources until the level of the imported power was restored.
