Food prices 4pc down in Kabul markets

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The prices of food items decreased by four percent in Kabul markets during the outgoing week as compared to last week’s rates while the price of Arabic gold increased.

Zmrai Safi, Food Dealers Association head, said the price of a 24-kilogram bag of Pakistani rice decreased from 2,100 to 2,050, a 49-kg of Kazakh flour from 17,010 1 to 700afs, 16-kg Khorshid cooking oil price decreased from 1,510afs to 1,500afs and one kg of Indonesian green team from 300afs to 270afs, and the same amount of African black tea cost 350afs.

Gold price also goes up

Mohammad Javed, a jeweler at Lesa-i-Maryam, said one gram of Arabian gold price increased from 3,700afs to 3,750 afs and the same quantity of the Russian variety stayed stable at 3,200afs.

Fuel price remains unchanged

Ahmad Javed, a worker at Wazirabad fuel station, said one liter of petrol was sold for 35afs and the same quantity of diesel for 37afs.

Mohammad Sharif, a liquefied gas seller in Kolola Pushta area, said the price of one kilogram of the commodity was sold for 50afs—same as last week’s rate.


Haji Hussian, a moneychanger at Sara-i-Shahzad market, told Pajhwok Afghan News one US dollar consumed 76.70afs while 1,000 Pakistani rupees 459afs compared to last week’s 76.40afs and 455afs respectively.
