2.1b afghanis welfare projects being implemented
KABUL (Pajhwok): About 259 welfare projects will be implemented in around one year in different parts of the country under agreements signed on Saturday.
The agreements were signed with development councils by acting Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development Prof. Mujeeb Rahman Karimi.
The ministry said the schemes included drinking water, supply network, canals, 108km of roads, retaining walls, bridges and ground wells under the Citizen Charter Program.
The acting minister said the projects would cost 2.1 billion afghanis and 11 of the schemes were funded by Germany, 85 by Asian Development Bank, and the remaining by the government.
The schemes will take one year to complete.
