Shaheed Naqib Khpalwak high school to get new building

JALALABAD (Pajhwok):  A newly-constructed building for a high school has been put into service in central Parwan province while reconstructioninfo-icon work on another high school building has been launched in eastern Nangarhar province.

In Nangarhar, the reconstruction work on Shaheed Naqib Ahmad Khpalwak High School building was launched with financial assistance from UNHRC on Saturday, the provincial government media office said.

A statement from the governor’s house media office quoted Governor Ziaul Haq Amarkhel as saying that the Shaheed Naqib Ahmad Khpalwak high school building would be constructed at a cost of $272,000 provided by UNHCR. The reconstruction would take six months to complete.

The new building was being constructed on 850 square meters area. The two-storey building would have 24 rooms, a computer lab, one laboratory, tables, desks, a clean drinking water well, solar power system and other needed facilities.

The governor said the structure would be completed in 10 months and it would resolve the issue of lack of space for students.

Nangarhar educationinfo-icon director Haseeb Shinwari said UNHCR besides construction of the school building had practically launched work on nine other projects including printing of textbooks, solar power system and clean drinking water supply.

In Parwan province, a newly-constructed building for a high school was inaugurated on Saturday, the Ministry of Education said in a statement.

The building for Al-Jihadinfo-icon high school was opened in Tatamdara area. The Indian-funded project cost 11.273 million afghanis, said Parwan education director Abdul Zahoor Hakim. He said the two-storey building had allied facilities.
