5 dead, 4 injured in Herat traffic accident

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Five people were killed and four others injured in a traffic accident in western Herat province on Thursday, an official said.

Governor Spokesperson Jilani Farhad said two cars collided with a lorry truck on the Herat-Islam Qala road at around 10am near Islam Qala Port.

He blamed high speed and ignoring traffic rules for the accident that left five people dead and four others injured.

The accident follows another accident on the Herat-Kandahar Highway on Thursday morning, in which 10 people got killed and six others were injured.
