Pakistani, Australian PMs talk Afghanistan

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistani and Australian prime ministers have discussion the current situation in Afghanistaninfo-icon, including the ongoing peace process.

During a telephone conversation late on Monday, Imran Khan and Scott Morrison conferred on issues of bilateral importance, including Afghanistan. 

Imran Khan highlighted Pakistaninfo-icon’s positive contribution to the Afghan peace process" and stressed that peace in the neighbouring country was of paramount importance for the region.

"The premier also highlighted the potential for enhanced trade and increased regional connectivity among the dividends of peace in Afghanistan," a statement from his office said.

Morrison acknowledged Pakistan’s positive role in the Afghan peace process. He hoped the ongoing talks in Doha would help bring lasting peace to the war-torn country.
