Senior Afghan Telecom official killed in blast
KABUL (Pajhwok): A senior Afghan Telecom official was killed in a bomb blast near his home in the Bagrami district of central Kabul province on Sunday, an official said.
Sayed Hanan Hashimi, head of the satellite department of the Afghan Telecom, was killed in a magnetic bomb blast, said Deputy Head of the Afghan Telecom Mohammad Sharif Amin.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast took place near Hashimi’s home in Botkhak area.
He said, “Hashimi was a very holy Muslim and an example of morality whose assassination is a great loss not only for Afghan Telecom but also for Afghanistan.”
Kabul police spokesman Firduos Faramarz told Pajhwok that a civilian had been killed in the blast.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast.
