JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Doctors at the Nashtar National Kidney Hospital in eastern Nangarhar province on Monday complained they have been facing some problems.

According to the doctors, they work over 40 hours part time in a week but they are denied money for it since past ten months.

Doctors are also denied money for Haq-ul-Khatar --- an amount they receive while working in threatening condition --- and in addition, for the past four years, their salaries are paid lately every month.

The angry doctors also talked about problems being faced by patients when it comes to medicines, medical equipment, machinery and other related problems.

Dr. Abdullah, one of the protesting doctors, said they had been promised money for Haq-ul-Khatar and in addition head of the Homodyalisis had made some promises but it was 10th month they had been denied their rights.

Syed Abdul Ghani Sadaat, another doctor, said in other provinces, doctors received money for Haq-ul-Khatar but they were treated discriminately and their rights were violated.

But Dr. Sher Mohammad Momand, head of the Kidney Hospital, said since 2019, the salary payment system has been converted to NTA and in line with the new system, doctors have no right to get Haq-ul-Khatar pay.

“In NTA system, the salaries are doubled compared to government system and according to the Finance Ministry, salary, credit card, Haq-ul-Khatar and part time salary are all issued at once.”

Public Healthinfo-icon Director Naseer Ahmad Durrani also said according to the NTA system, the Kidney Hospital doctors were not entitled to Haq-ul-Khar and other privileges.
