Amarkhel praises Kot residents for defeating Daesh
JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The residents of Kot district defeated Daesh insurgents and the government was committed to helping them in all areas, Nangarhar Governor Ziaul Haq Amarkhel said on Thursday.
Addressing a gathering in Kot district, Amarkhel, who also serves as senior advisor to the president, said the people of Kot stood firm against atrocities of Daesh, therefore the government was committed to supporting and helping them in all spheres of life.
“I am feeling proud to be with the people who stood firm against Daesh and with support of security forces eradicated them from this soil,” he said. Security and government officials accompanied Amarkhel on his trip to Kot district.
He said organizing the gathering under open sky was an evidence to the world that the people of this district had cleared this land from terrorists.
“The residents of Kot at the cost to their blood ensured security and today they live in peace, the governor said, asking all tribes to cooperate with the government in security related matters.
The Nangarhar governor said peace and stability was the demand of people and hoped people will continue to support security forces in ensuring peace and stability for development.
Haji Hayat Khan, head of the local support group, provided information to Amarkhel regarding the way people fought against Daesh and assured their unity and support to security forces.
