2 pro-govt fighters killed in Paktia bombing

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): At least two pro-government forces have been killed and two others wounded as a result of a car bombing in southeastern Paktia province, an official said on Saturday.

Lutfullah Kamran, the deputy police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the bombing took place on the Gardez-Zurmat highway in the Neknam area of Rohani Baba district.

Kamran said based on preliminary information, two public uprising members were killed and as many others wounded in the attack.

He said seven militants were killed and four others wounded in a clash and an airstrike after the bombing.

Ikramullah, a resident of the area, said the car bombing took place last night. “The blast shattered windowpanes in many homes and the situation has deteriorated here.”

The Talibaninfo-icon have said nothing about the bombing so far.
