Azadi Radio journalist killed in Helmand blast
KABUL (Pajhwok): A journalist of Azadi Radio was killed and three others including a reporter were wounded in a bomb explosion in southern Helmand province on Thursday.
Governor’s spokesman, Omar Zwak, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Elyas Dayee, a reporter of Azadi Radio was targeted with a sticky bomb attached to his vehicle in Lashkargah, capital of Helmand today morning.
He said that Dayee was killed and three others including the journalist’s brother were injured in the incident.
An official who wished to go unnamed, said that Mujtaba Mohammadi, brother of Dayee, who wounded in the incident is a reporter of Deutsche Welle, a German state-owned broadcaster.
No groups have so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
Five days back, Yama Seyawash, a former anchor of Tolo News was killed in a similar attack in capital Kabul.
