Qatar hopes Afghan talks to progress before 2021

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani hopes that Afghan peace process will progress before the end of this year.

Talking in the international security conference, Al-Thani said Washington was closely working with Kabul to find a peaceful solution to Afghanistaninfo-icon’s conflict.

He hoped until the end of the ongoing year, there would some progress in the Afghan peace process.

He said Qatar supported every step that could contribute to Afghan peace in every part of the worldinfo-icon.

It is worth mentioning that the US and the Talibaninfo-icon signed a peace agreement after 18 months of talks.

But from the past few months, the Afghan government and the Taliban have been engaged in peace talks in Doha without any breakthrough.
