Would-be suicide bomber detained in Samangan

AIBAK (Pajhwok): Police in northern Samangan province have detained a would-be suicide bomber, an official said on Wednesday.

Police spokesman Munir Rahimi said the detainee was loyal to the Taliban movement and received insurgent training in the Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province.

He said the suicide bomber had come to Samangan to target the security forces. But he was captured before he could reach his target in the Dara-i-Kalan area of Hazrat Sultan district.

The identity of the detainee was not specified by the official, who said the suspect would be referred to judicial organs after initial investigations.
